Do you drive an Acura RDX? If so, take a moment to give the following information a once-over to learn a few vital details that’ll help you continue to get the most out of your on-road companion!
Your Acura RDX is equipped with a Maintenance Minder™ on the dashboard. This handy aide is there to let you know when it’s time to take care of key maintenance procedures. It delivers this information to you via specific codes.
We’ll review some of these codes for you below to help you get a good understanding of what areas need to be addressed when specific codes appear on the Maintenance Minder™ screen.
The Maintenance Minder™ for your Acura RDX uses two main codes. The first is A. When you see the letter A on the screen, you’re being alerted that it’s time to change your SUV’s oil.
The other main code is B. This could mean that it’s time for a few different things, such as the inspection of the front and rear brakes, the fuel lines and connections, all fluid levels and condition of fluids, and brake hoses and lines.
Apart from the main codes, there are also sub codes that you’ll see. There’s a total of seven of these.
For example, when you see the number one being displayed, the message being relayed is that your vehicle is due to have its tires rotated. The number two on the screen could be telling you one or more of three tasks need to be completed. A two could mean it’s time to replace the air cleaner element, replace the dust and pollen filter, or have the drive belt inspected.
Let’s say you receive an A12 code. Based on the above information, you know this could mean that your RDX is due for an oil change, a tire rotation, and a dust and pollen filter replacement.
Are your regular driving conditions dusty? If so, it’s recommended that the air cleaner element be replaced every 15,000 miles to account for this. If most of your driving is done in urban areas where there’s likely to be considerably more soot in the air, you’ll want to have the dust and pollen filter switched out every 15,000 miles, as well.
Is the Maintenance Minder™ in your RDX telling you that your vehicle is due to have a task performed? If you call Norwood, Westwood, Dedham, or Needham, MA, home, contact Ira Acura Westwood or use our online scheduler at your earliest convenience to book your appointment.
